Composed music to the new Gran Turismo HD Trailer

To add a new dimension to his audio portfolio Chris decided to compose a track to accompany the new Gran Turismo HD Trailer.  The track is very stylish and cool to mirror the professional and slick look of the new game.

Received credits on the Electronic Arts game Harry Potter and the Order of The Phoenix

July 2007

Due to his input as an Audio Intern at Electronic Arts Chris was awarded credits on the world wide top selling PC, PS2, PS3, XBOX 360 & Wii game Harry Potter and the Order of The Phoenix.

Won the Microsoft and Rare sponsored XNA UK national competition – in the ‘game music’ category

June 2007

Chris recently placed 1st for ‘game music’ in the national competition hosted by Microsoft and Rare. The challenge was to create three one minute seamlessly looping pieces, each representing a distinct atmosphere or mood for the computer game concept of “Ocean Odyssey”. The three moods chosen were of Tension, Tranquility and Joyfulness. The tracks were written on Logic Pro using a combination of real and synthetic instruments, and mastered in Sound Forge using various reverb, stereo spreader and compression plug-ins.

Graduated from the Tonmeister Course with a 1st in my final year portfolio of recordings, and an overall 2:1

Chris recently finished his last year at university, and received the highest mark out of the year group in his final year portfolio of recordings.  This portfolio is of particular importance because it showcases a student’s talent and flair in recording and mixing to a high professional standard. During my time on the course Chris also received a double 1st in his Professional Placement Year (year in industry).


Recorded a cover of the Portishead track “Glory Box”

May 2007

With the help of his band, Chris recorded and mixed a cover version of Glory Box by Portishead.  This recording captures the life and energy of a live band, but with the produced studio sound. The recording was multi-tracked to 2″ analogue tape, through a Neve V series desk. A copy of the final mix can be found in below:

Glory Box


Attended a second exclusive workshop on microphone technique with Grammy award winner John Dunkerley

May 2007

Chris recently participated in a second exclusive workshop with John Dunkerley, organised for final year Tonmeister students at the University of Surrey.  In this second workshop previous areas were expanded upon, with topics including balancing, perceived depth in a recording, and advanced microphone placement and technique.


Recorded The Royal Free Singers with The Orchestra of London, on location at Eton College

March 2007

Chris recently organised, recorded and produced a location recording for The Royal Free Singers. Their performance of Beethoven and Schumann pieces at Eton College, was conducted by Benedict Gunner and accompanied by The Orchestra of London.

Was requested back by Sebastian Forbes to engineer a second recording of solo piano

Further to the successful solo harp recording Chris was requested back by the producer, Sebastian Forbes, to engineer a second session. In this session they recorded a solo pianist playing pieces by Mozart.

Recently Chris recorded and engineered a solo harp recording of  tracks, including pieces by J. S Bach and Ronald Stevenson. All tracks were produced by the golden ears of Sebastian Forbes.  A recording of Feuilles d’Automne by Hasselmans can be found below:
