Chris’s music and sonic branding package for Renault TV has been nominated as a finalist in the Best Original Composition In Titles And Branding category of the International Music+Sound Awards 2013. The Music+Sound Awards celebrate creative excellence in music and sound design and has been set up to establish the criteria and standard for international excellence in music and sound for visual media, and to shine a light on those who create, source and commission it.

The BAFTA Rocliffe Event now in its fourteenth year, is a platform for new writing and a networking event. Three script extracts of between eight and ten minutes are selected by an industry panel from an open call out. This year the forums focus on TV Drama, Sitcom/Sketches and Film and is chaired by BBC Controller of Drama Commissioning Ben Stephenson.

Using just an old GameBoy Light and a copy of Little Sound DJ Chris recently finished composing the score to the new 8-Bit video game inspired Greenpeace viral EU vs CO2, created by London based production company Man+Hatchet. Greenpeace is concerned about car carbon emissions in Europe. Cars are currently responsible for about 12% of Europe’s car emissions, and have steadily increased between 1990 and 2008. At the moment Greenpeace is trying to get EU parliament to impose more legislations on European car companies, ideally to cut carbon emissions in half by 2025. This would result in less oil drilling, less pollution, and more fuel economic cars. If that’s something you’d like, you can sign the petition on the associated website at euvsco2.com.

Chris recently worked with MassiveMusic on their new adverting spot that celebrates Three’s sponsorship of the Irish national football team, in a wholehearted tribute to the enduring loyalty of Ireland’s supporters. Their fans are always there to lend unwavering support through thick and thin, wherever in the world their team finds themselves and whoever they’re up against. They’ll brave pretty much anything to be there, even blizzards and countless spells on airport benches. Written by Irish agency Boys & Girls, the ad stars real-life members of Ireland’s largest football supporters club ‘You Boys in Green’, airing ahead of the team’s all-important World Cup qualifiers to rally the nation’s indispensable support.

Much has changed since BC Children’s Hospital was designed in the 1970s and, while we’ve maintained leadership in research and the delivery of care, our hospital building has been unable to keep pace. We’ve outgrown it in every imaginable way. Using deft slight of hand and perspective tricks, director Miles Jay from OPC FamilyStyle surprises us with the lack of space at the Hospital. Chris worked with Adelphoi Music to provide the convincing sound design to trick the viewer and lead them into a certain familiar space, before the twist.

Chris recently recorded in the beautiful Air Edel Studio 1 with the amazingly talented folk group Tir Eolas for a currently unannounced video game project. The session was engineered and mixed by the brilliant Nick Taylor. Some photos from the session can be seen below:

This autumn Chris will be producing and arranging tracks to be heard by over 10 million people for this years The X Factor. Working with Metrophonic and leading UK music producer Graham Stack he will producing, arranging and programming tracks for the live finals of this years blockbuster ITV show.

Working with Adelphoi Music and Wonder Creative, Chris recently completed work on three idents and menu beds for the new re-branding and global identity of Renault’s true entertainment brand RTV. The challenge was to realise Renault’s ambition to be a true entertainment brand and embrace their values of dynamism, playfulness and spontaneity.

Chris recently finished working with MassiveMusic London on the moving piano score to the IPA Bronze Award Winning film, Teenage, for health brand Abbott Nutrition. The beautiful film was shot by the London-based photographer and director Sophie Ebrard and produced by Wyatt-Clarke & Jones.
